Avebury, located in Wiltshire, England, is a captivating place steeped in history and mystery. The most remarkable aspect of Avebury is its collection of prehistoric monuments dating back to around 2850 BC and 1600 BC. These structures, built by Neolithic and Bronze Age communities, stand as testaments to their advanced engineering skills and cultural beliefs. The centerpiece of Avebury is the largest stone circle in the world, encompassing a whopping 100 stones originally, some still standing tall and proud today. Within this massive circle lie two smaller ones, creating a truly awe-inspiring sight. Surrounding them is a henge, a circular bank and ditch marking the sacred space.
